About Us

Yayasan Mercusuar Ilmu — an Indonesian nonprofit foundation advancing education and empowering communities since 2015.

Foundation History

Yayasan Mercusuar Ilmu was founded in 2015 in Sumedang, West Java, Indonesia. The Foundation was established on the conviction that education is the primary foundation for human and community development.

From its inception, the Foundation has focused on Islamic education, human capacity development, vocational skills, digital innovation, productive learning, and community empowerment. This approach is rooted in the belief that education must be connected to real life and capable of creating sustainable impact.

The Foundation emerged from the experience and networks of its founders in higher education, research, community engagement, entrepreneurship, and digital education — brought together in a vision to build an integrated education ecosystem.

Institutional Approach

Yayasan Mercusuar Ilmu believes in a comprehensive education ecosystem — one that connects Islamic character formation with formal education, vocational skills, digital competence, productive livelihoods, and community-wide empowerment.

Our approach is evidence-based, transparent, and collaborative. We clearly distinguish between existing programs, initiatives under development, and future opportunities. We do not claim what we have not achieved, and we openly share our development status with partners and the public.

The Foundation also maintains a clear institutional separation between its nonprofit educational activities and any associated cooperative or community economic platforms. Through its institutional relationships and community networks, including engagement with ANUWAS, the Foundation has access to broader opportunities for community empowerment, entrepreneurship, skills development, and local economic development.
